A Hometown Skater Reaches the Olympic Podium
Congratulations to Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier on winning the bronze medal in ice dance at the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics!
Piper Gilles began her skating journey at a young age in the Rockford Park District’s Learn to Skate program. She further developed her skills through private instruction with Coaches David Kinser and Carol Ueck, and was a dedicated member of the Rockford Skating Club. We are immensely proud of her outstanding accomplishments and the remarkable success she has achieved on the international stage.
